NIER ROM Description

The world Near inhabits is slowly suffering from disease and severe decline—the things he loves most, including his daughter Yona, who is dying from a mysterious virus. No fairies or dragons appear, but instead, fearsome creatures called Shadows from the Land of the Dead. Near tries to protect his daughter from death and finds a way to free the world from this curse.

NIER’s gameplay focuses heavily on action. You control the main character, swinging his sword and killing more than the turn-based gameplay of a traditional Japanese game. What Near cannot do with a sword, his grimoire does with magic. The book unleashes more and more magical weapons as the game progresses to aid Near in fearlessly fighting evil monsters.

While it looks like a Zelda-style game, the game design reveals a surprising variety of gameplay. Near frequently changes the camera angle to have a top-down perspective, horizontal scrolling, and even a Resident Evil-style lock. This separation trend is exciting and reasonable. The Japanese PS3 and Xbox version of Near even has a different main character.

Near offers beautiful boss battles and surprising art instructions. It deserves to be a good game that you should try on your PS3 emulator.
